Lisa Saliman, JD - Staff

Ms. Saliman graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 1985 with a degree in Psychology. For a number of years, Ms. Saliman was in the retail profession, attaining the position of buyer for Lord & Taylor in New York City. She then attended law school at Golden Gate University in San Francisco, emphasizing her studies in the areas of tax and estate planning.

In 1994, Ms. Saliman joined the law firm of Seifer, Murken, Despina & James, APC, in San Francisco. While there, she developed a successful tax controversy practice, representing dozens of clients before the Internal Revenue Service, Franchise Tax Board, Employment Development Department and Board of Equalization. She settled numerous offers in compromise for clients with large tax liabilities as well as clients who were wrongly assessed tax. In addition to her tax practice, Ms. Saliman had a law practice in which she focused on estate planning, including estate tax planning, and probate and conservatorship matters. She represented court appointed executors and private trustees. Ms. Saliman attributes her success with her estate planning practice to her practical tax compliance background. Though not currently practicing law, Ms. Saliman is still an active member of the State Bar of California and is eligible to practice before the US Tax Court.

Ms. Saliman represents clients in all types of tax compliance and controversy matters before the IRS, Franchise Tax Board, EDD and other tax agencies. Her areas of specialty include audits, appeals, collection matters, offers in compromise, disputes over incorrect assessments and delinquency matters. She also specializes in estate planning and trust return preparation.
